be a single work of journalism: double entries will be eliminated from consideration.

have been published within two years of submission.

have had an impact on the world, country, or community.

be accompanied by a statement, including relevant sources, describing the impact of the work. If the entry passes initial rounds of consideration, sources will be independently checked to confirm.
If a work meets the above requirements, use the registration form to the right to submit it. We award grants yearly, with the deadline for each year occurring December 1. Works written closer to the deadline are not given priority. If your work has been written recently and we decide that its impact cannot be determined yet, it may be tabled to next year's contest. Entry fees are final, and you will not be refunded if your entry does not meet the above requirements.
